About Us

About Us

Nick Kinsinger & Lauren Brannon opened Blue Meadows Farm in March 2021, originally located in Mitchellville, IA, and purchasing the current home of Blue Meadows in Van Meter, April of 2024.

Both Nick & Lauren are multigenerational horsemen and have a passion for sharing the American Saddlebred and Hackney Pony breeds with anyone who would like to enjoy them.

Prior to opening Blue Meadows Farm Nick spend time developing a strong skill-set for training horses and ponies as well as attention to detail when it comes to presentation. Working under champion and hall of fame trainers Bob Brison, Robert Gardiner, and Jimmy Miller while in Missouri. Hackney ponies were a passion of Nick's from a young age, but also developed a speciality of starting young horses while at Brisons. Lauren grew up in the saddlebred industry showing and learning under her father, Rocky Brannon at their training facility outside of Lake St. Louis. Which is where her strong passion for show horses and riding programs developed. After college Lauren also learned under top trainer Bob Brison, working with amateur show horse teams and leading their riding lesson program.

Ensuring the local saddlebred industry thrives is a strong passion to Nick and Lauren as well. Nick currently serves as Treasurer of the Iowa American Saddlebred Association and President of the American Saddlebred Futurity of Iowa. Lauren serves as the President of the Iowa American Saddlebred Association and Vice President of the Mid-States Horse and Pony Horse Show.  While serving these boards they have spearheaded of the IASA Tune Up Shows, IASA October Classic, Academy Graduation, and Iowa Academy State Championships.

Why Blue Meadows
